RFC 5050 introduction
This document describes version 6 of the Delay Tolerant Networking (DTN) "bundle" protocol (BP).
Delay Tolerant Networking is an end- to-end architecture providing communications in and/or through highly stressed environments.
Stressed networking environments include those with intermittent connectivity, large and/or variable delays, and high bit error rates.
To provide its services, BP sits at the application layer of some number of constituent internets, forming a store-and-forward overlay network.
